My name is Emma Xu, a recent PhD graduate in mechanical engineering at Columbia University, where I studied the optical properties of lanthanide-based upconverting nanoparticles. I was also the founder and CEO of Avant Photonics.
You can find my current and previous scientific projects under the Research tab. I also blog about science, philosophy, books, traveling, and art.
